Bridgewater Meet

Our little Beaver chewed right through this tree and moved onto some Wheat Thins!

Findlay watching the big boys play in the field...wishing he could join in, but too shy to try.

Olivia's relay team...first in their heat!

The Ovens for Camping...

We finished off our vacation week with a camping trip to the Ovens. We managed to fit in a brief camping time with the Falcon Run crew and a swim meet in Bridgewater before we headed back home to regular days again!

Shelly and Innis still smiling during the tent set up....the enthusiasm of the first camping trip of the season!

Andrew and his helpers...

Meredith was eager to explore the scenery and cliffs at the Ovens

Cannon Cave

More Crowbush...bonfire in the evening...

The kids enjoyed an evening stroll on the beach and a bonfire for just the five of us. All the marshmallows they could eat!

Behind the wheel isn't far off...but I'm glad we've got a bit of time!

Crowbush....well worth it!

Earlier this summer Findlay had requested that we go to a hotel with a pool that was near a beach....we thought we would return to Crowbush resort after being there a few years ago for a wedding. What a great time we had. Findlay loved it and the girls really enjoyed their time there too....

Lots of creatures in the water...

Off to hit some balls...

Findlay doesn't look interested in what the golf pro has to say...

Our very own Happy Gilmour

This golfer's way cuter than Tiger...

Family Vacation in PEI...

We had a relaxing couple of days in PEI and enjoyed some great weather. It's always a bit risky taking vacation in July, as the weather can be unpredictable...but we lucked out.

The kids enjoying their monster-sized beverages at the Pilot House in PEI.

Passing the time in Charlottetown before Anne of Green Gables.

Not all moments were idyllic...we did have our challenges with Findlay. I guess we can't be "on" all the time!

Finally a six year old....

For the last eight months, my nephew Rowan has been puzzled with how he could be the same age as Findlay when he is a year ahead of him in school and activities. He's been telling Findlay that he was six since Findlay turned five in March...and finally he is...

The kids had a blast at the Rowan Olympics out at the Bembridge's cottage...some action shots follow:

Summer swimmers...

Olivia and Meredith are on the summer swim team, the Bedford Beavers. They're minding the daily practice in the pool, but they're having a great time at the meets. It makes for some long days, but they're enjoying meeting new friends and splashing in the water.

Meredith about to swim her race in the same lane that Olivia just raced in. We're lucky to have the girls in the same age group this year, so it condenses the time we're waiting for the big races!

Crazy Cat

This cat is quite a creature. Axel always keeps us laughing, most of the time.

Cabin #2

Cabin #2 at Bayside wasn't as full as usual, but they were certainly thrilled to be together!

Another Tulloch Five

Just before leaving Keigan, Olivia and Meredith at camp for the week (five days). The two younger boys will have to wait for next year for their camping fun, although they can't wait for a sleepover to make up for missing the camp experience!

Livin' large in the summer...

This first week of July has been amazing for heat and sunshine. My garden is looking scorched like it usually does in August! I hope this is a sign that there's more to come.

The kids have revelled in all the summer fun things and I'm starting to get into the groove of the madness that is the summer schedule of dropping wet towels (occasionally hanging them on the line) and picking up dry ones to head out to the next adventure.

Here's a shot of Olivia at her cousin's for a swim...she loves the water.

Maggie and Findlay with some new water squirters for the pool.

Hard to imagine that Findlay was cold, but he had been in the water so long that he was actually chilly!

New Resolve...

I've been carrying my camera around with me for most every day of this summer and I've only managed to take a handful of photos. What's that all about?! I am resolving to capture more of the every day photographs of summer. Perhaps I've held off, because every time I open my purse, Findlay announces he's hungry (I think he thinks I have a snack bar in there!)....or perhaps it's just that I haven't embraced summer yet as I'm always distracted with what I should be doing, instead of enjoying what I am doing.

Here goes....hopefully from this post onward, there will be a record of the fun and festivities, and even the bug bites and cranky moments...because there's a few of those too.

Happy Summer!

My happy-go-lucky Meredith

I don't think I've met a more easy-going girl than Meredith. Smiling, as usual in her soccer uniform.

Surprise post-soccer visit...

Uncle Innis came by to show off his new Subaru, so while the test drive went on, Findlay and Keigan were content to play outside...Findlay's so lucky to have such close cousins...otherwise we'd worry about him not having a brother, and that's just not an option!

The last day of school at Waverley Road....until Findlay begins in September

Meredith and her friends from Waverley Road School

How cute are these two? Nikolas and Findlay

Some of those big grade threes....heading to Eaglewood next year!
